The question that went outside the body, and the Star formulas

One thread has been running under this whole article and is picked up in a later one. Every formula here was built by putting an observation beside a reading and asking whether the two were about the same thing — a tired mother and a textbook page about the ilia; a red face after a treatment and a holiday in the hills; a woman's white water and a child's sunken nose bone. The next question that was asked in that way is stranger than any of these, and it goes outside the body altogether.
