ROUND ARROW — राउंड एरो
The rubbing is done with the edge of your big thumb. Starting from below the neck, on the right side of the spinal column, giving inward pressure on each bead and pressing the nerves below, rub down as far as the L5 bone; then, without lifting the finger, come up the left side of the spinal column, from below upward to the neck.
Take care that each time the pressure falls on the side of the beads.

The "round" is the shape of the journey: down one side, round at L5, up the other, the thumb never leaving the skin. Right side down, left side up is written. What lies beneath is as under Beside the spine; the force is aimed into the angle between the bead and the muscle beside it.

Why the Round Arrow follows Ku — a rule with a long reach
A step that makes a finding, and a step set behind it to cancel it
One further benefit was found from giving the Round Arrow after Ku, and this is one of the most useful small findings in the whole formulary.
Ku first, Round Arrow after — and the reason
It was seen that giving Ku produced pain at Mu° in some people, and signs of acidosis began to appear in them — whereas the (20) ↑|↓ took the pain of Mu° away.
This fact has been used in many places. That is why you will see that in many formulas (20) ↑|↓ is given after Ku.
Notice what has happened there, because it is a model of how this therapy handles its own side-effects. A step was found to produce an unwanted finding in some patients. It was not denied, not explained away, not made conditional on the therapist's judgement. It was named, and a second step was set immediately behind it whose job is to cancel it. The pairing is the safeguard.
And the rule travels. The point's own entry carries the same instruction from the other direction: if pain remains at Mu° after Ku, give Round arrow as required until the Mu° pain clears.
