Neurotherapy (LMNT) formula

WD variant of the Star formula

Also called: WD Star, Star formula, WD variant

The WD variant is the second Star formula of Neurotherapy (LMNT) for old joint pain. It opens with WD, the point that rouses the generative (reproductive) organs, gives Gal more lightly than Old Star, and keeps Ku and the Round Arrow — with the navel-setting step ONS added only if there is a need.

Overview

What is the WD variant of the Star formula?

The Star formulas were made for old pain in the joints — what Indian households call sandhi vata, 'wind in the joints'. Two plain findings came first: these patients always had pain at the Gal point, and their stomach was also bad. The first Star formula, Old Star, answered both, and it worked so well that patients made its name mean a true star.

The WD variant came next. It keeps the same backbone — Gal, Ku and the Round Arrow — but changes the opening. Instead of setting the navel first, it begins with WD, which rouses the generative organs. The navel-setting step, ONS, is not abolished; it becomes conditional, given first only when there is a need.

The teaching records that both this formula and Old Star began to please all the patients with joint pain. The WD variant is still taught beside the later Star formulas, because nothing in this line was thrown away.

The areas of the WD variant: the forearms for WD and the left thigh for Gal lying on the back; the end of the spine and the sides of the spine lying face down.

What it is for

What is the WD variant used for?

  • For old joint pain (sandhi vata), in the patient who has pain at Gal and a weak stomach.
  • When the patient's picture points towards the generative organs, and the navel does not first need setting.
  • To help the brain's messages and the blood's nourishment reach the joints, by clearing the way along the spine.
  • It works alongside medical care; any joint medicines the doctor has prescribed continue.

Points it works through

Which points does the WD variant work through?

Four points, with a fifth added only when needed. They are listed here as a set, with what each one contributes. The exact method is taught hands-on in the Neurotherapy (LMNT) course.

WD

WD, worked on both forearms with the patient on the back — it rouses the generative organs. This is the step that gives the variant its name.

Gal

Gal, the gall bladder point on the left thigh — to take out the pain of Gal and help the flow of bile. Here it is given more lightly than in Old Star.

(4) Ku

The old Kundali (Ku) at the very end of the spine, lying face down — given to stimulate the pineal gland.

Round Arrow

Round Arrow along both sides of the spine — to clear the road for the spinal nerves, and to take away the Mu° pain that Ku can bring.

ONS

ONS, the Old Nabhi Set, lifting both legs to set the navel — only if there is a need, and then given first.

Position: Lying on the back (supine) for ONS when needed, WD and Gal; then face down (prone), with pillows under the chest, for Ku and the Round Arrow.

The exact technique is taught hands-on in the Neurotherapy (LMNT) course. See the course →

How it works

How does the WD variant work, and why does WD come first?

The teaching tells openly where the Star idea came from. Guruji honoured his family's tradition and the old sciences, including the birth chart (kundali). The thought came that diseases which do not leave a person for many years must be connected with the planets. That is tradition, not anatomy — but every step built on it was tested at the bedside.

A second thought followed from the first. If the planets' connection is from birth, their effect must reach the generative organs. In Neurotherapy (LMNT), the generative organs are roused by the WD treatment. So the formula was changed: WD became the opening, Gal was lightened, and ONS became conditional.

The rest is the Old Star reasoning. Ku rouses the pineal gland, because practice showed that brain activity rises after Ku. The pineal's message must travel through the spinal nerves, and uneven vertebrae block that road like a traffic jam — so the Round Arrow clears it. Ku can bring pain at Mu° in some people, and the Round Arrow behind it takes that pain away. The exact method is taught hands-on in the Neurotherapy (LMNT) course.

Its family

Which formulas are related to the WD variant?

The Star family grew in generations. Each new form answered a group of patients the earlier form did not fully help.

  • Old Star — The first Star: navel set, Gal pain taken out, pineal roused, road cleared. The WD variant is its sister.
  • New Star — For patients whose Gal pain survived: Gal and WD both raised, and the old Ku replaced by a single longer half-Ku hold.
  • New Star Modified — The working joint-pain formula: navel-setting steps in front of the New Star. Extremely useful in RA.
  • Alkaline Star — The Star for pain from the alkali side, which brings the old Ku back.
  • July 2006 rebuild — The Star formulas broken apart and rebuilt into one staged protocol.

What it is used for

When is the WD variant given?

It is chosen from the patient's findings: old joint pain with pain at Gal and a weak stomach, in a patient whose picture points towards the generative organs. The side the body leans to — acid or alkali — is checked before any Star formula.

Joints

Safety: when it is held back

  • Ku is not given during menstruation, nor to those with low blood pressure. The bar belongs to the point and travels into every formula containing it. (4) Ku
  • Ku and the Round Arrow are a pair: Ku can bring pain at Mu° and signs of acid, and the Round Arrow behind it takes them away. Never break that pair. Round Arrow
  • WD rouses the generative organs, so it is not given in cancer. In cancer the therapy also never gives (10) Pan, Thymus, Pit, Lu+Sh, Rt.Ov/Lt.Ov or (30) Medulla. Cancer care: Neurotherapy (LMNT) support
  • When ONS is added, its own cautions apply: not with acute back pain running below the knee, a disc problem, thin bones or long-term steroids. ONS
  • Gal is not given in leukaemia or other conditions with a raised white cell count, nor in asthma. Gal
  • WD is one half of an inseparable pair: wherever P point is given, WD follows at once. This formula does not contain P point, but the pair belongs to WD's identity. P point
  • A hot, red, swollen joint with fever, or sudden severe joint pain, needs a doctor the same day. Keep taking every medicine your doctor has prescribed. Children get light treatment.

Common questions

What does WD stand for?

WD stands for White Discharge. The WD point is used to rouse the generative organs, and it takes its name from one of the complaints it is given for.

How is the WD variant different from Old Star?

Old Star opens by setting the navel and gives Gal more fully. The WD variant opens with WD, gives Gal more lightly, and adds the navel step only if needed. Ku and the Round Arrow are the same in both.

Does Neurotherapy (LMNT) say joint pain comes from the planets?

The teaching tells honestly that the idea behind the Star formulas began with that thought. Where an idea comes from is a different question from whether it helps. The formulas were kept because of what patients reported, not because of the idea.

Can I have it during my period?

No. The formula contains Ku, and Ku is not given during menstruation. Your therapist will wait or choose something else.

Surprising facts

1Cartilage has no blood supply

The smooth cartilage that covers the ends of bones in a joint has no blood vessels of its own. It is fed by the joint fluid, which moves in and out as the joint is used.

2Thirty-one pairs of spinal nerves

Eight pairs at the neck, twelve at the chest, five at the loins, five at the sacrum and one at the tail — each leaving through its own gap between two vertebrae.

3Sex hormones guard the joints too

Oestrogen, made by the ovaries, helps keep bone strong. After menopause, when oestrogen falls, bone is lost faster — one modern, well-proven link between the reproductive organs and the skeleton.
