A composite, assembled from the kind of afternoon every busy centre has.

The centre at Nashik kept a chart on the wall — a body outline with the points marked, region by region, the way this wiki has taught them. A visiting student stood in front of it one afternoon with four patients waiting behind her and found that the chart could not help her with any of them.

The first was a man who could not lift his right arm since a scooter had put him into a wall. The second was a woman of thirty-nine who had been told her womb had descended and that an operation was the only answer, and who had cried in the doorway rather than in the room. The third was a boy of twenty-two, mortified, who had come about a pain in his calf and taken eleven minutes to mention the swelling that had actually brought him. The fourth was a man three years after a stroke whose right hand stayed curled against his chest like a closed shell.

Not one of them belonged to a region. Each of them belonged to a problem — and for each of those problems somebody, once, had worked out a treatment on one particular patient and then kept it. The senior therapist turned the wall chart over. On the back, in ballpoint, in four different hands, was a list of names with no anatomy in them at all: Rocket. P point. Hydrocele. Shukla. Katka. Superfast. Vasanti. Feather touch.

"That side is the body," he said. "This side is the rest of it."

Knee, Leg, Foot finished the body. Head, neck, chest, belly, spine, low back, hip, knee, calf, foot, big toe — the atlas walked all the way down a human being and came out at the toes. This article is what would not go into that order.

These are the treatments found one at a time, for one trouble each, and then kept because they worked: a point for an arm that will not lift after a blow, a point for a scrotal swelling that is felt in the calf, a point for a womb that has descended, a rule for treating the limb you cannot touch by treating the one diagonally across from it. They were never arranged by region because they were never discovered by region. They are arranged by problem, and the only way to learn them is one by one.

Three of them carry more force than anything else in this wiki and are hedged about with the sternest cautions the therapy writes. One of them — the last — uses no force at all, and is the only treatment in the atlas that can be given to a patient who cannot be given any of the others.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN HERE

By the end of this article you will be able to:

Give Lower shoulder blade pain and Upper shoulder blade pain — the two arm positions, the two different tools, the paths, the three times, and the treatment that follows them both in cervical problems.

Tell Down arrow from Up arrow by where the therapist sits, which vertebra the palm starts on, which way the slide runs, how hard it presses, which positions are allowed — and which of the two kinds of dizziness each is for.

Give Hydrocele point, Prolapse point with the (6) WD that must follow it, T8 with its ceiling on force, Rocket point, Gal–Spl ghisai and Superfast, each with its own count and side.

Work through Abdomen setting — four movements, three of each — and state the Opposite point rule in one sentence, with the pairing it names.

Give Katka and Motor neuron point under the four-pillow, three-finger rule they share, with only a mild jerk, and say why the material tells you to use both only after much thought.

Give Paralysis clockwise, Shukla — 6–6 times, and never in osteoporosis — and Vasanti, 15 to 20 times, very softly.

Give Ton 'P' and Ton 'T', whose three rubs are identical and whose counts are not, the Sangam points that follow one of them, the Ankle point, and Feather touch.

Finish a session properly: re-check every pain point, write it on the card in the plus-and-minus notation, and manage the patient who is giddy or heavy-headed as she gets up.
