From Setting the Stomach
The shortest of them, and the one that reaches furthest — CCK Normal
Ten seconds between each point, and an ending at the sacrum
This is one more treatment which stimulates the whole digestive system. Its order is as follows.
Table 11 — Card: CCK Normal Formula Seated Supine Prone 6 sec
| Written | (10) Medulla · (1) Gas Only – 6 points · (1) Gal · (1) Gas 'I' – 6 points · (2) S4, S5 |
|---|---|
| Family | Built from the therapy's own logic. Named after the hormone — nothing whatever is administered |
| Positions, in order | Seated → supine → prone Seated Supine Prone |
| Step 1 | (10) Medulla — seated; the nape, both sides. To stimulate the vagus nerve |
| Step 2 | (1) Gas Only – 6 points — both soles on both thighs, hip crease to knee, six or more stations Both sides . To increase the digestion of proteins in the stomach |
| Step 3 | (1) Gal — right sole down the left thigh Left . For hydrochloric acid |
| Step 4 | (1) Gas 'I' – 6 points — soles and heels down both calves, knee to heel, six or more stations Both sides . To increase absorption in the intestine |
| Step 5 | (2) S4, S5 — prone; the fourth and fifth sacral beads Prone . To stimulate the descending colon |
| The rest | Give a gap of ten seconds between each point. By this, digestion and absorption improve |
| What it is for | To stimulate the whole digestive system; mild constipation; and for the eyes |
| What the therapy says about the rest of it | Further research into its other uses is continuing |
| The inseparable pair inside it | Gas Only is followed here by Gas 'I' — the pairing established in How a Formula Is Built. Where the constipation is severe, (2) S4, S5 goes with the Gas 'I', and in this formula it is already there |
| Prohibitions it inherits | Everything attached to (10) Medulla — not in diabetes, not in cancer; (10) Left Medulla only in heart patients ▲ Take care |
| Points taught in | Medulla — Seated I — Brain, Medulla, Neck; Gas Only, Gas 'I', Gal — The Front of the Body I; S4, S5 — Face Down |
Two things about that card are worth more than their length.
The first is the ten-second gap. Everywhere else in this article you are told how many six-second applications to give and in what order; here alone you are told how long to wait between the points. Ten seconds is not a rest in the sense of the one-minute and ninety-second intervals of Table 8 in How a Formula Is Built — it is a breath and a re-positioning, and its work is to stop the five steps running together into one continuous press. It has its own stated purpose, like every written interval in this therapy: by this, digestion and absorption improve.
The second is where the formula ends. Look back at what (10) Medulla does: by means of the vagus nerve it stimulates every part of the digestive system except the descending colon. So a formula whose aim is the whole digestive system has a hole in it at the far end — and the last step, (2) S4, S5, is placed exactly over that hole. The anatomy stated in one place is acted upon in another, a little further on, without comment. That is what it looks like from the inside when a system is coherent, and a student who notices it will read the rest of differently.
And a word about mild constipation, because the adjective is doing real work. Normal bowel habit runs all the way from three times a day to three times a week, and a good many people who describe themselves as mildly constipated are inside it. Treat the patient whose habit has changed, and remember that constipation of recent onset after the age of fifty, or with blood, or with weight loss, is a referral before it is a formula.
