Also called: UDF generation three, the four-stage UDF treatment
The improved UDF treatment is the third generation of the Neurotherapy (LMNT) treatments for undigested food in the stool. It brought in two things that return again and again in later formulas: the sacral hold for immunity, and the pancreas point for digestive enzymes.
Overview
What is the improved UDF treatment?
UDF means undigested food in the stool. Guruji's very first UDF treatment was a simple pair: (10) Medulla to rouse the vagus nerve, and Gas Only to improve blood supply to the stomach. The second generation made that pair milder and gave it more often, because gentle, repeated stimulation was found to work better than one strong dose.
The improved treatment is the third step. It has four stages. It opens on the neck, adds the sacral hold at the base of the spine — at two different strengths — and then gives the compulsory pair again, now joined by the pancreas point.
Both additions stayed. Almost every later UDF formula carries the sacral hold, and the pancreas point returns in the absorption closing of many of them.

The improved UDF treatment added the sacral hold for immunity and the pancreas point for enzymes to the earlier neck-and-gas pair.
What it is for
What is the improved UDF treatment used for?
To correct undigested food in the stool, with particular help for protein digestion.
To support the body's immunity, which is why the sacral hold was added.
As the base on which the comprehensive UDF treatment was later built.
Points it works through
Which points does the improved UDF treatment work through?
The improved treatment works through the neck, the base of the spine and the thighs. Its last stage is a unit of three points that is given across more than one session. The points are listed here as a set, with what each contributes. The exact method is taught hands-on in the Neurotherapy (LMNT) course.
Gas Only on the thighs — the other half of the compulsory pair, given lightly over many places.
Position:Seated for the neck; face down (prone) for the sacral hold; lying on the back (supine) for the thigh points.

How it works
How does the improved UDF treatment work?
The teaching gives a plain reason for each addition. The sacral hold, Ku, is there to increase the body's immunity. The teaching's theory is that it may rouse the white blood cells, or the stress-hormone chain from the pituitary to the adrenal glands — and it leaves the choice of route to the body.
The pancreas point is there for the pancreatic enzymes, which finish the digestion of protein in the small intestine. With (10) Medulla rousing the vagus and Gas Only helping the stomach's blood supply, the last stage covers the stomach and its main helper gland together.
What it does not yet do is reach the small intestine's absorbing work. That gap was filled by the next generation, the comprehensive treatment, which added two stages at the end.
Its family
Which formulas are related to the improved UDF treatment?
It is one generation in the long UDF family, each made to answer what the one before could not.
Comprehensive UDF treatment — The next generation: two stages added at the end to reach the small intestine and absorption.
Simplest UDF treatment — A short treatment built on the sacral hold, with nothing on the abdomen.
OLD UDF — The long general-purpose UDF treatment that came later.

Safety: when it is held back
(10) Medulla is never given in diabetes or in cancer. In heart patients it is never given on both sides — only (10) Left Medulla. (10) Medulla
The sacral hold (Ku) is never given to a woman during her periods, nor to someone with low blood pressure. The first question is asked at every session. Low blood pressure
Pan raises alkali, so it is not given in fits or seizures, nor to people with schizophrenia. In cancer, (10) Pan is never given. Pan

Common questions
Why is it called 'improved'?
Because it improved on the earlier UDF treatments by adding two things they lacked: the sacral hold for immunity and the pancreas point for digestive enzymes.
Is it still used, now that newer UDF formulas exist?
It stands in the line of UDF treatments, and its additions live on in nearly every later formula. Which one a patient receives is the therapist's choice after examining them.
Why is the last stage given more than once?
The UDF family learned early that milder stimulation, repeated, works better than one strong dose. The exact plan is taught in the course.
Surprising facts
1Your pancreas makes over a litre of juice a day
The pancreas pours more than a litre of enzyme-rich, alkaline juice into the small intestine each day. Its enzymes break down protein, fat and starch.
Source: Guyton & Hall, Textbook of Medical Physiology, 14th ed. — pancreatic secretion is about 1 litre or more per day.
2Protein-digesting enzymes start switched off
The pancreas makes trypsin in an inactive form, so it does not digest the pancreas itself. It is switched on only once it reaches the intestine.
The pituitary's ACTH tells the adrenal glands to release cortisol, one of the body's strongest natural brakes on inflammation.
