CNNS — all 3 sides

Also called: CNNS all three sides, Three-sided CNNS, CNNS 'Gas-Gas' all 3 sides, तीन-तरफ़ा CNNS

CNNS — all 3 sides is the fuller form of the Complete New Nabhi Set, given on one named toe along its centre line and along both sides of it. Its best-known use is on the two big toes, before Loveleen, for chest pain caused by gas in the stomach.

Overview

What is CNNS — all 3 sides?

CNNS, the Complete New Nabhi Set, sets the navel from the feet: it works along the top of the foot from near the ankle to the toe, because each toe is linked to one place around the navel. Ordinary CNNS works along the centre line of each toe.

The 'all 3 sides' form goes further on a single toe. It works the centre line and then both sides of it, so the whole line from ankle to toe is covered from three directions. It is never given on every toe as a routine — only on the toe the card names.

All 3 sides means the centre line of the named toe and both sides of it.

Where it is given

Where is it given?

PositionLying on the back
Body areaTop of the foot from near the ankle to the nail edge, along the one toe named on the card

You lie on your back. A pillow goes under the foot with the heel left outside it, and the therapist sits at the foot end.

It is given on the top of the foot, from near the ankle to the edge of the nail, along the line of the toe that is written on the card. For example, 'CNNS Gas-Gas all 3 sides' means the big toe of each foot — the Gas toes — and no other toe.

Only the toe named on the card is treated — here, both big toes.

How it is given

How is it given?

It is given with the therapist's thumb, exactly in the manner of CNNS: the thumb presses the skin gently inward and draws forward toward the toe, and the toe is gently bent toward the sole and released. The difference is only that the line is worked from three sides, not one.

The thumb never rests on the tip of the toe. How each side is taken, and how the work is divided between them, is taught hands-on in the course, under a trained teacher.

What it does

What does it do?

In LMNT teaching it does what CNNS does — sets the organ linked to that toe around the navel — but more thoroughly, on one chosen line. The toe-to-navel link is the therapy's own map, drawn from clinical experience.

  • Concentrates the navel work on one organ code instead of spreading it over all ten toes.
  • On the Gas toes, it is used to settle gas in the stomach that is felt as pain in the chest.
  • Prepares the ground for Loveleen, which is given after it for that same chest pain.

Organs it reaches

  • Navel — Each toe is linked to one place around the navel.
  • Stomach — Gas trapped in the stomach can push up and be felt as chest pain.
  • Intestines — The big toes carry the Gas codes, linked to the gut around the navel.

Its family

How is it related to the other navel sets?

It is a named form of CNNS, and it belongs to the navel-set family given at the feet.

  • CNNS — The parent treatment — the centre line of each toe, from near the ankle.
  • New CNNS — The revised CNNS, in which the toe is drawn forward instead of bent.
  • NNS — New Nabhi Set — works the toe joints only.
  • Loveleen — Given after CNNS 'Gas-Gas' all 3 sides for chest pain from gas — never both sides at once.

What it is used for

What is it used for?

It is written for a named toe, so its use follows from the organ code of that toe.

Gas and the chest

The navel

  • Abdominal painA tender place at the navel, worked through the toe linked to it.

Safety: when it is held back

  • Chest pain is not gas until someone qualified has said it is not the heart. The person at risk is the one whose heart disease has not been found yet. How to tell a patient to see a doctor
  • Loveleen, which follows it for gas pain, is never given to kidney patients or heart patients. Loveleen
  • Feet that have lost feeling — long-standing diabetes above all — are not given firm or repeated pressure. Diabetes
  • The thumb never goes on the tip of the toe, and only the toe named on the card is treated.
  • Children get light treatment. Lighter formulas for children, the elderly and the weak

Common questions

Why only one toe?

Because the card names the organ that needs the work. A named toe narrows the treatment; the other toes are left alone.

Is this the same as ordinary CNNS?

It is CNNS taken further on one toe — the centre line plus both sides. Ordinary CNNS works the centre line only.

I get chest pain after meals. Can I just have this?

Not before a doctor has checked your heart. Once the heart is cleared and the pain is from gas, a therapist may use this with Loveleen.

Surprising facts

1Gas can mimic the heart

Trapped gas and acid reflux are common causes of chest pain that is not from the heart — yet they can feel very similar, which is why the heart is always checked first.

2The big toe is different

The big toe has two small bones where every other toe has three, and it carries a large share of your weight when you push off to walk.

3Thin skin over bone

On the top of the foot the skin lies almost directly on bone and tendon, with very little padding — one reason the pressure there is kept gentle.
