Old joint pain (sandhi vata) and how the Star formulas were born
Neurotherapy (LMNT) reads a stiffening joint as one whose supply and drain have been narrowed for a long time. Two plain findings in such patients — pain at the Gal point and a bad stomach — led to the Star family of formulas.
Overview
A joint is two bone ends meeting in a small, closed, wet room. It has a lining that makes the joint fluid, a cushion of gristle on each bone end, and a modest blood supply. Nothing is stored there: food and oxygen must keep arriving and waste must keep leaving. When that supply and drain are narrowed for years, the joint slowly grows stiff and sore. Indian households call this sandhi vata, wind in the joints.
Looking at many such patients, Guruji noticed two things: they always had pain at the Gal point, and their stomach was also bad. Treatments to set the stomach and to improve blood flow helped them, but did not finish the work.
The next idea came from outside medicine, and the tradition tells it openly. Guruji had deep regard for the old Indian sciences, including the birth chart, and thought that illnesses which stay for years might be linked with the planets; hence the name Star. The reasoning that followed was physical. Ku, given at the base of the spine, was seen to raise the activity of the brain and was used to stimulate the pineal gland. The brain's message must travel through the thirty-one pairs of spinal nerves, and any unevenness in the vertebrae could block that road, so Round arrow was added to clear it.
The first formula, Old Star, brought such quick relief in old joint pain that patients made it truly a star. Later forms, the WD variant and New Star, were made when some patients still had pain at Gal. The exact methods are taught hands-on in the course.
Key points
- A stiff joint is read as a joint whose supply and drain have been narrowed for years.
- Patients with old joint pain showed pain at Gal and a bad stomach.
- The Star formulas set the navel, ease Gal, stimulate the pineal gland and clear the road along the spine.
- Round arrow follows Ku because it clears the Mu° pain that Ku can bring in some people.
- Where an idea came from is a different question from whether it helps at the bedside.

Safety: when it is held back
- Ku is not given to women during menstruation, and not to people with low blood pressure. This hold travels into every Star formula. Low blood pressure
- In some people Ku brings pain at Mu° and signs of acidosis; Round arrow is given after it to clear that pain. Acidosis

“By the Ku treatment we can stimulate the pineal gland.”
