Place, time, angle and order: the four things fixed in every treatment

Neurotherapy (LMNT) pressure is given at a fixed place, for a fixed time, at a fixed angle and in a fixed order. Each one matters, and each goes wrong in its own way: a wrong place does nothing, a wrong time weakens the effect, and a wrong angle hurts.

Overview

Three things are settled inside each application; the fourth, order, belongs to the formula.

The therapy describes itself as pressure at particular places on the body, for a determined time, at a determined angle and in a determined order. The place is not just the thigh but one exact part of it. Move the contact a little and you are treating something else.

A wrong place is the most deceiving mistake: nothing hurts and nothing happens, and the case simply seems difficult. A wrong time under-gives or over-gives the press, and at some points a wrong count may even produce a different effect from the one intended. A wrong angle is the only one that hurts. Pressure should fall over a broad surface and draw the muscle inward, along its natural line.

Order belongs to the formula. Organs cannot be stirred in any order we like. The usual rule for the bowel is right follows left: the organs on the right of the navel first, then those on the left, following the way the bowel moves its contents. The reverse order is a named tool, used to slow the bowel in loose motions, and the Normal formula is given afterwards to bring the body back.

A point is an address in a region, not a wire to one organ: it raises blood flow in all the organs of that area. The exact timing and method are taught hands-on in the course.

Key points

  • Place, time, angle and order are fixed every time.
  • A wrong place does nothing, and gives no warning.
  • A wrong angle hurts; the patient's pain is a signal to change it.
  • Right follows left is the usual order; the reverse is a tool for loose motions.
  • The sequence is the formula, not packaging around it.

Safety: when it is held back

  • If the patient winces or says it hurts, the therapist changes the angle or reduces the weight at once, without arguing. Only the patient knows the pain.
  • The therapist settles into full balance on the chairs before letting any weight down, so a slip cannot fall on the patient. Before You Touch Anyone: Room, Conduct and Consent
  • The reverse order slows the bowel. It is used only for loose motions, never in constipation, and the Normal formula follows after a few days. Diarrhoea (loose motions)
